Our Leadership

And God placed all things under [Christ’s] feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.

Ephesians 1:22-23

We believe that Christ is the head of the church and surrender all aspects of Fellowship Baptist Church of Bakersfield to his rule and authority. In essence, we have not and cannot give him this authority; it is already his. What we are doing, is simply stating and acknowledging the reality of Christ’s reign over ALL things, especially the church.

Pastor Grant Bennett

Pastor Grant Bennett is honored to serve the Lord with the saints of Fellowship Baptist Church. “I’m excited to see what God wants to do in our church, and through our church in the coming years. We are going to keep seeking God, praising Him, and loving our neighbors so we can all live in God’s amazing grace.”

Pastor Grant and his wife Meghan enjoy the adventure of raising their three girls. They are still looking for the best tacos in Bakersfield. Right now “The Spot” in the Haberfelde Building holds the #1 slot. Growing up in a pastor’s home, Grant got an early start in ministry. He became a youth pastor while still in high school. He has served in various ministry roles for over 25 years. Grant is finishing his Master’s Degree at Gateway Theological Seminary and focuses his study on preaching, church history, and prayer.

Associate for Advancement and Youth

Billy Punt

Billy Punt has been a part of Fellowship for over 25 years. He met his bride at youth camp and together they started their family, and served in many roles through the church. When not enjoying time with his sons, Billy tackles many projects around the church. His role now is focused on reaching the next one. With outreach, campus improvement and youth ministry in his responsibilities, he keeps looking to reach the next one.

Worship Leader

Charlie McKay

Charlie McKay grew up in Arizona. He was raised by a family that took care of their community. His parents’ example instilled a passion for working for the community and not just his own satisfaction. As Charlie and his bride, Robin, moved to California and started their family, they raised their sons and daughter to serve the Lord in their churches. Using his musical gifting, Charlie has spent over 40 years leading worship services, choirs, handbells, and people to give God more of the praise God deserves.
