We believe that Christ is the head of the church and surrender all aspects of Fellowship Baptist Church of Bakersfield to his rule and authority. In essence, we have not and cannot give him this authority; it is already his. What we are doing, is simply stating and acknowledging the reality of Christ’s reign over ALL things, especially the church.
Pastor Grant Bennett
Pastor Grant Bennett is honored to serve the Lord with the saints of Fellowship Baptist Church. “I’m excited to see what God wants to do in our church, and through our church in the coming years. We are going to keep seeking God, praising Him, and loving our neighbors so we can all live in God’s amazing grace.”
Pastor Grant and his wife Meghan enjoy the adventure of raising their four children. They are still looking for the best tacos in Bakersfield. Right now “My Spot” in the Haberfelde Building holds the #1 slot. Growing up in a pastor’s home, Grant got an early start in ministry. He became a youth pastor while still in high school. He has served in various ministry roles for over 25 years. Grant is a graduate of Gateway Theological Seminary and focused his study on preaching, church history, and prayer. He works with the California Southern Baptist Convention, Kern County Southern Baptist Association and 6:4 Fellowship to help Pastors grow as Spiritual leaders and find personal sustained renewal.
Chris White
Youth and Outreach Director
Chris White has been apart of Fellowship for several years and has served around Kern County for most of his adult life.
Growing up in Bakersfield, he got serious about following Jesus in his teen years and had the chance to serve in his church’s youth ministry following High School. Chris studied Counseling at Liberty University and has spent many years teaching in Christian Education and serving in Children’s and Youth Ministries. Chris and his wife Carrie love traveling with their son and can teach you how to make award winning sourdough! Chris hopes to see the next generation follow their savior, find their purpose, and take their place.
Ryan McKay
Worship Director
Ryan grew up serving in church with his family and the group that eventually became Fellowship. He enjoyed playing music and being apart of worship teams led by his father. When the opportunity came to step into worship leadership, Ryan knew that his turn to lead had come. Ryan works full-time in IT and he and his wife Dyellen enjoy games, crafts, and raising their wonderful and bright daughter. Ryan hopes that you will get to come and see how great God is.
